2023 - BRANDON POY
When you’ve had a long, successful run with an organization, it’s not always easy to pick out a single favorite memory, but for Brandon, the experience of meeting so many amazing people across the nation, along with the valuable skills and lessons learned through SASE, have emerged as priceless. “I initially joined SASE to meet people in college, and I am happy to say that I have met some of my closest friends thanks to the strong communities of SASE within each chapter and on a national level,” he said.
Still, he’s quick to point out that while the opportunities are there, it’s up to individuals to take advantage of them by getting out as much as one puts in. “Whether you want to make lots of friends, develop professionally, gain leadership experience, or more, there are ways to do that in SASE, but the extent of each depends on the work and effort you’re willing to put in,” he said. “Opportunities will come, and when they do, take a risk and value your ability to grow. The hardest part about making the most of every opportunity is committing; it’s okay if you don’t know exactly what to do from the get-go, because if you have faith in yourself and are willing to put in the work, the resources and mentors are there for you to grow into your potential. Everyone has the potential to be amazing leaders.”
