2025
Worcester Polytechnic Institute & Texas A&M University
Awarded to the chapter that made outstanding contributions to and for the advancement of SASE’s three core mission statements: (1) prepare Asian heritage students for success in the global business world, (2) celebrate diversity and tolerance on campuses and in the workplace, and (3) provide opportunities for its members to make contributions to their local communities.
Today, we are 328 members strong, representing 42% of WPI’s Asian population. Over the past year, we’ve hosted more than 50 events across SASE’s three pillars, each one grounded in a commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and empowering every member to take an active role in shaping our chapter’s future.
Our flagship Mentor-Mentee Program reached a record 160 participants this year and is fully led by a selected committee, giving students early leadership opportunities and long-term impact. On the service front, we launched SASE Stands Up, a new initiative where we supported the Worcester Refugee Assistance Project. Through culturally rooted fundraisers, donation drives, and hands-on outreach, our chapter raised a gross amount of $1,800 and won WPI’s 2025 Social Program of the Year. With this success, we developed a permanent committee that will continue this program for years to come.
Our SASE Roadmaps series offered practical, skill-building workshops on financial literacy, communication, and career readiness. Our signature Elevate and Empower program returned in partnership with NSBE, featuring five industry-leading companies, mock interviews, and resume reviews led by alumni and faculty. These programs equip members with the tools and confidence to succeed in the global business world.
Give your members the chance to lead with you—not just follow. Create structures that encourage initiative at every level, from first-year students to seniors. Be transparent about how decisions are made, and encourage feedback often. Let members lead programs and projects, and shape the direction of your chapter. When members see that their ideas and efforts are valued, they stay engaged—and your chapter becomes a place of purpose, not just participation.
SASE TAMU endeavors to cultivate the academic, professional, and social growth of our members, furnishing new and old members alike with an inclusive and welcoming environment; a home away from home, with a dash of that trademark Aggie spirit.
In keeping with that spirit, our chapter has always looked upwards and pushed boundaries. Our most noteworthy achievement was nearly doubling our paid membership and engagement through various social and cultural initiatives. SASE TAMU has put the “A” in SASE with our introduction of cultural months that celebrate Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, and other asian cultures throughout the year, allowing our members to discover and celebrate their heritages alongside those of various backgrounds. Additionally, the introduction of intramurals and sporting events has given us the means to both expand and build camaraderie among the new and old alike.
Our chapter has held a strong professional record, whether it be connecting our members professionally or forging ties with new industry sponsors We’ve brought big names to our members, such as Amazon and NASA, Moreover, our chapter forges professional relationships with other campus organizations, hosting professional and social events with MAES (Latinos in Science and Engineering) and TAMU NSBE.
As well as promoting opportunities for professional development, our chapter prioritizes creating an inclusive environment. Through our SASE Squads, we break down the larger chapter into smaller families to encourage deeper connections across members outside of GBMs. Each squad caters to certain niches. Whether sports, baking, or games, we provide a group for every member. Our inclusivity expands past our members, as we often host interorganizational events beyond just APIDA communities, with a long-running partnership with MAES bringing in new members and corporate opportunities. We will continue to cultivate an inclusive community for our members, ensuring they achieve professional development, academic achievement, and social fulfillment.
